Rick Simpson and his family seek help from the Revered cannabis visionary as he recovers from a stroke
Rick Simpson suffered a stroke in May 2018 and has been recovering since then. Neither Rick nor his family, being a very private person, wanted to make this information public earlier to be focused entirely on his recovery. Needless to say, a stroke and its effects always prove to be an extreme challenge for both the person suffering from it and their immediate family.
His only caregiver since Rick’s stroke was and still is his wife Danijela, with whom he had worked tirelessly for the last seven years to educate people through seminars, interviews, and consultations around the world about the benefits of medicinal cannabis while maintaining a base in Europe.
Rick Simpson, best-known as an efficient cancer treatment for the production of iconic cannabis oil, has recovered from a stroke he had more than two years ago; his wife announced in the past month that she claims she had kept him outside the public domain in the latest days.
Challenging times
This month, the Simpson family began a GoFundMe campaign to help Rick pay for his medical costs. The campaign raised just over $5,000, with an overall target of $160,000.
“We coordinated a fundraising campaign for the Rick Simpson Campaign to help offset some Rick’s medical cost, those of the previous two, a half years and those still on the horizon,” Danijela Simpson told us in the email. “It’s been a challenging period for Rick and me in several different ways.
The Curing Oil of Rick Simpson
“Rick Simpson Oil” (or “RSO”) has become a popular medical cannabis form, which supporters believe to be able to be used for cancer treatment. While no sound evidence is available, according to WebMD, “some early research suggests that some marijuana chemicals have potential as a future treatment of cancer.” WebMD defined “Rick Simpson Oil” as oil made by washing cannabis buds with Solvent, such as pure light naphtha, to boil off a solvent that leaves behind the oil.”
WebMD also gave a short history of how his medical discovery came about. “After a bad fall, he discovered that the dizziness and other symptoms of marijuana had been reduced,” the website reported. “Simpson used cannabis oil to treat him later in developing basal cell skin cancers in his arm. His skin cancers have gone down as the findings go.”
“RSO” is not the advertised commodity” as WebMD notes that, but does “market a version of the oil for profit; Simpson does “explanate how its namesake oil is to be made” on his website.
In 2016, the publishing house “Simpson Rama Dur LLC” was created by Rick and Danijela Simpson, to provide the public with the necessary information on cannabis healing powers.” Rick Simpson detailed in writing on the website of the organization what constitutes the project of a lifetime.
Long journey ahead
“Since 2001, when I first treated myself, I have spread awareness of the healing powers of cannabis,” he wrote. “I’m not looking for credit for any illness cure. My only goal is to teach people how to recover.”
Rick has made a long journey in the last two and a half years, but Rick and Danijela now face massive financial difficulties amid all their human efforts to meet Rick’s medical needs and to meet them.
We are also planning a fundraising effort to help offset Rick’s medical costs over the last two and a half years and those on the horizon.
Rick Simpson Oil, the cannabis oil used to treat or help many different health problems, has been used for many years to defend people’s right to heal themselves using natural remedies, and after writing two books on this subject, giving numerous interviews and lectures, Rick needs a lot more from himself.
